Dear Mr Fitzwilliams,

The email address you have posted on your website for public comment keeps bouncing back to me. Could you or one of your staff look into the problem? I'd like to get my comments to the right people.

Thanks
Christie

Dear White River National Forest DEIS;

I would like to urge you to select Alternative B with regard to oil and gas leases in the WRNF.

I see how the land is destroyed throughout Garfield County by the drilling rigs, roads, etc. I hate the thought of views, watershed, air and memories destroyed. Why is it that these companies choose mountain ridges to drill? Can't they use more thought to place these drills and all the associated equipment in areas where they aren't seen? Based on how they have operated on private lands, I cringe at the thought of our public lands being destroyed with this activity. Once these roads are built and land scarred, it's ruined. The WRNF is a special place. Teddy Roosevelt would be rolling over in his grave if he knew!

I don't even know what regulations would be in place for the drilling, but I hope there will be third party monitoring of the water, air and wildlife. Will there be stiff corrective action or even shut down of operations for sub-standard work performed? Maybe build only one well at a time. What types of technologies can be implemented to limit the emissions? I can't even believe that toxic fracking fluids are permitted. Is it possible to make non-toxic fracking fluid?

Sincerely,
Christie Jensen
